What are AMC military flights?
Flights with available space
Space-free flights, also known as “MAC flights” or “military jumps”, are military operational flights that have additional seats. The military mission is the priority, and Space-A’s passengers are essentially cargo. Eligible travelers can “skip” the flight (for free), but the system is based on priority.
Do AMC flights offer movies?
Once on board the aircraft, the experience is similar to a commercial flight. Your boarding pass will have an assigned seat, and there are civilian flight attendants. The PE has a full in-flight meal service and other standard amenities, such as movies. It is also warmer and quieter than military cargo planes.
How to get Mac flight?
To fly on Space-A, eligible passengers must check in (register) at the military passenger terminal from which they wish to depart. Uniformed service members must be on leave or pass status when signing up. Registration can be very competitive at some busy terminals, so be sure to register as early as possible.
Do AMC flights serve food?
Food and non-alcoholic beverages are complimentary on AMC contracted flights. These meals are served at the appropriate time of the flight. Meal reservations are made at the time of seat assignment or other times during flight processing. You can bring your own snacks (food) on board (no alcoholic beverages).
Is the space free?
Space travel is a privilege (not a right) available to uniformed service members and their dependents. The majority of Space-A flights are offered by the Air Force’s Air Mobility Command (AMC) or Navy and Space-A seats are normally free (a fee is charged for AMC’s Patriot Express flights).
Is there WIFI on AMC flights?
There is no in-flight WiFi (paid or free) on any AMC Airlines flight.
Can family members fly in A space?
With the exception of EML, emergency travel, and command-sponsored Category V, family members must be accompanied by the sponsor to fly in A-space. A-space seats are normally identified from 2-3 hours and up to 30 minutes before departure.
Can I travel with my out of service military uniform?
Personnel on official travel and traveling by commercial transport may wear service uniform, army combat uniform, or appropriate civilian dress, unless restricted by the commanding officer.
